Sweet Sue is a hard plastic doll, that is jointed at her shoulders and hips. She has open/close sleep eyes with full eyelashes. She has been in my collection for quite some time and has been well cared for. Although I do not have her original dress and accessories, she is leaving home with a beautifully made dress that I created for her, a pair of new underpants, matching blue socks and my highest quality doll shoes, and a matching ribbon for her hair.
She can wear her dress in two ways, one with the pinafore as seen, or remove the pinafore for a more simpler look. When I make doll clothing, the seams will be finished and the hems will be turned appropriately, so that there are absolutely NO frayed edges underneath. I am extremely fussy, even with the doll clothing that I make. In addition, the dress has button closure with lovely buttons that match and the collar and cuffs on her sleeve match the fabric of her pinafore/apron. The sleeves are puffed then completed with finished cuffs that make this dress absolutely adorable. There are darts in the back at the shoulders, making this dress fit Sweet Sue quite nicely.
The pinafore/apron, is magical in that I have added an applique to the center of the bodice, added “real” pockets (yes, Sue can put a penny, even a quarter, in each pocket) in the front which are embellished with rose ribbons. The cross-over shoulder straps, cross in back and button at the sides where the skirt of the apron meets (yes, these are working buttons as well, and then it ties sweetly in the back.
The blue socks match extremely well with buckled Mary Janes, which I am sure her new owner will absolutely appreciate.
